O3 Sauna Therapy:What an ER Physician Discovered
Ozone Sauna Therapy What an ER Physician Discovered

Ozone therapy has gained attention over the years, not because it is trendy, but because clinicians began noticing that many patients who did not respond to conventional treatment were improving with oxygen-based therapies. One of the clearest explanations of this comes from an interview recorded in 2014 with Dr. Howard Liebowitz, an emergency-room physician who practiced for decades at a Level One trauma center.
In the video, Dr. Liebowitz describes how his wife, an OB/GYN, introduced him to functional medicine. He attended a conference with her expecting little. Instead, he saw patients recovering in ways he had never seen in the ER. He says a light went on. These patients were improving without pharmaceuticals. They were returning to normal function. Meanwhile, many ER patients were simply patched up and sent home, only to return because their underlying problem was never addressed.
Ozone therapy became one of the tools he adopted. He explains ozone as a form of oxygen carrying an extra molecule, giving it a highly active role in supporting immune function, circulation and oxygen utilization. In Europe, intravenous ozone has been used for decades. It remains part of the clinical landscape in several countries.
His examples range from chronic fatigue to inflammatory conditions to persistent viral syndromes. The pattern was consistent. Patients who had felt unwell for years were slowly regaining energy, immune balance and clarity. Ozone was never portrayed as a cure. It was a modality that helped the body recover when nothing else had worked.
Ozone Therapy at Woman’s Well Collective
At Woman’s Well Collective, we do not use intravenous ozone. We offer the ozone sauna, a warm steam chamber infused with an ozone–oxygen blend. As the body heats, circulation increases and the skin opens as an active organ of absorption and elimination. This encourages detoxification, lymphatic movement and a calmer, more oxygenated state.
Patients describe the ozone sauna as grounding and restorative. Effects often include softer skin, lighter muscles, improved circulation and an overall sense of clarity. Benefits deepen with consistent sessions.
Part of the 03Lift Contour System
The ozone sauna is one phase of our four-part 03Lift Contour system. It prepares the body by increasing circulation, oxygen availability and tissue responsiveness before the advanced contouring steps begin. Each phase builds on the previous one to support the body’s natural physiology.
Interview: Dr. Howard Liebowitz explains why many physicians turned toward ozone therapy after years in emergency medicine.
The interview remains one of the clearest illustrations of why many conventionally trained physicians began paying closer attention to ozone and other oxygen-based therapies. They were watching patients get better. For many, that was the turning point.
